Chechens exhibit Russian occupation outside EP

Brussels/Agency Caucasus – Violence against Chechens over the two wars in Chechnya since 1994 was symbolically exhibited outside the building of European Parliament in Brussels, capital of Belgium.

Adam Borovsky, an honorary ambassador of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria to Poland, had his exhibition of photography ‘Genocide in Chechnya’ launched on Tuesday. Former President of Lithuania Vytautas Landsbergis, politicians from Estonia, Belgium and Poland, Head of a Russian human rights organization Lev Ponomarev, Head of Memorial Oled Orlov and representatives of the Human Rights Watch (HRW) were there along with Chechens.

Some Chechens were also there to attend the launching program as witnesses of the violence as they had managed to escape from Russian prisoner camps. Adam Borovsky and Rubati Mitsayeva, a representative of the Geneva Organization Committee, both called on international courts to sentence Russian fascism when they addressed the audience.  ÖZ/FT
