Kadyrov demeans resisters

Caharkala/Agency Caucasus – The Chechens in a battle against the Russian occupation were called bandit, and the Chechens who tried to use Chechnya as a polygon in their attempts to make Russia fall apart were labeled terrorists in a statement by the Kremlin-guided President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who dismissed the resisters in Chechnya as being much too weak to constitute a real threat.

"Although there are still illegal groups in Chechnya, they are small in number and not yet powerful enough to be a real threat to the national peace," said Kadyrov in his statement on January 20.

Kadyrov later defined the Chechen resisters as a small bunch of bandits with persistent attempts to stage attacks from behind.

"The prosecutors made a significant contribution to winning a great victory against international terrorists who tried to use Chechnya as a polygon in their attempts to make Russia fall apart," Kadyrov said to express his appraisal of the prosecutors’ performance.

Valeri Kuznetsov, a prosecutor, said that the instances of both kidnapping as well bribery went down by 50 percent.

There are also some people who tend to think that Kadyrov’s reference to his administration’s efforts to maintain peace across the nation amid several types of ongoing military activities damages his public image. KU/ÖZ/FT
