Abkhazia nominates Igor Ahba as ambassador to Moscow

Sukhum/Agency Caucasus – The administration of Abkhazia plans to appoint Igor Ahba, a special envoy of Abkhazia in Moscow, as the first Abkhaz ambassador to the Russian Federation.

The Abkhaz Foreign Ministry officials requested agreement from the Russian Foreign Ministry officials to grant him ambassadorship. Granted official approval from the Kremlin, Abkhaz President Sergey Bagapsh will grant his own approval to assign Ahba as the Abkhaz Ambassador to Moscow, which is not expected to reject the Abkhaz offer to get Ahba granted official agreement to go ahead.

Akba has been in Moscow since 1992 as the envoy of Abkhazia.
